Rose Sundays in the heart of Miami Beach

If you are one of those that waits all week for Sunday to come around to indulge in a good brunch with unlimited drinks, good music and even better company, this post is for you.

Nautilus South Beach in Miami Beach offers one of my favorite Rose Sundays brunch.  For $55 per person you can enjoy an all-you-can-eat feast that includes everything you can think of thanks to its executive chef Richard Fuentes.

Don’t be fooled, this was only my first plate…and first glass of Rose. ?

Be sure to get there on time so you can really enjoy the bottomless Rose until 4pm and pack your bathing suit so you can hang out at the  Nautilus Cabanas or the beautiful Miami Beaches for sunset.

Fashionable experience at Versace’s The Villa Casa Casuarina

Right in the heart of South Beach in Miami, you can find Italian designer Gianni Versace’s last residence. Now a days, The Villa Casa Casuarina is an exclusive boutique hotel with impecable suites and a five star restaurant “Gianni’s” that offers an exquisite selection of fine Italian dishes.

The Villa Casa Casuarina is located in South Beach’s famous Ocean Drive.

If  your budget is anywhere from $500- $1000 per night, The Villas is the place for you. Check out the lavishing suites designed by Versace himself. ?

But you don’t have to spend the big bucks to enjoy a nice evening at The Villa Casa Casuarina. Book a dinner at Gianni’s and you will get to walk around the impressive mansion and satisfy your craving for an Italian meal.  That is what I did!

Gianni’s main dinning room, The Medusa, is gorgeous, but if possible, ask to be seated outside.

Tuesdays and Wednesday, they have live jazz music.

Why not have dinner with this view of the 54-foot-long Million Mosaic Pool?

I began the night with a Passion at the Mansion.

For my sister, a virgin Berrisace Collins.

Burrata Millefoglie: Vine Ripe Tomatoes, roasted eggplant, 12 year old balsamic vinegar, grissini and Prosciutto di parma. $25

Pulpo alla grilla: spanish octopus, polenta a limone, baby heirloom, chorizo, basil chimichurri. $22

Risotto ai funghi di bosco: carnaroli rice, seasonal farm mushrooms, fondutta di taleggio.$28

Branzino: whole grilled loup de mer, bayaldi vegetable, tomato confit, lemon. $MP

And of course, we had to try their iconic dessert.

Charming Italian Restaurant in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea

Carmel-by-the-Sea has won its place as a top-10 destination in the United States and favorite city  among travelers from all over the world, with its European-style village where everything is within walking distance. There are many charming hotels, shops, restaurants , wine tastings, and art galleries to visit.

Just a couple of weeks ago, my family and I drove a little less that three hours to this amazing city for the first time. By the time we arrived, around 2pm, our priority was to find a place to have a late lunch, and luckily we ran into The Treehouse Cafe.

Honoring its name, this family owned restaurant is surrounded by many flowers and trees.

Make sure to ask to be seated in the Terrace area located in the second floor.

I decided to go for the Veggie Pasta and was delighted by the size of my dish and flavor.

Lasagna- fresh pasta sheets, meat sauce, cheese baked in oven.

Vegetarian option: Eggplant pasta with tomato, basil, garlic, grilled eggplant and parmesan cheese.

Another favorite, Portobella Mushrooms with fettuccini and cream sauce.

For those wanting a more mediterranean dish, we tried the lamb kebab.

Everything tastes better with wine..the Californian house wine at Treehouse is delish. ?

They have a variety and selection of wines for you to choose at great prices.

If the terrace is busy, the interior of the restaurant is quite cozy.

Healthy Eating in Miami

Slowly but surely, Miami is getting a wide variety of restaurant options for all tastes, budgets, and lifestyles. Plant Food + Wine, a plant-based concept of delicious dishes, is one of those must-visit restaurants that everyone, even die-hard-meatlovers should check out. This culinary experience includes a tour through its kitchens and if you want to take your cooking skills to the next level,  Matthew Kenney Culinary Miami  offers cooking courses.

“Plant, Food + Wine” cuisine is plant based, vegan and organic. I’m not vegan but can certainly enjoy a healthy and tasty meal.

Located within “The Sacred Space” in Wynwood, this breathtaking space was designed by architect Rene Gonzalez.

You can enjoy indoor and outdoor seating. If the weather permits, definitely sit outside and enjoy the view.

Start off your culinary experience with Thai Lettuce Wraps.

You will not regret ordering the Zucchini Lasagna. DELICIOUS! 🙂

“Plant, Food + Wine” offers you the opportunity to tour its kitchen, allowing you to see up close how each of the meals are prepared.

If you are lucky, you can get to meet and chat with Chef Horacio and Chef Veronica.

Architecture meets fine dinning in Prague

One of Prague’s most impressive modern building is the Dancing House Hotel This exclusive hotel with only 21 luxury rooms has a restaurant worth visiting.

Ginger and Fred is located in the seventh floor of the Dancing House. Prepare yourself to pay a little more than in any other restaurant, but it’s worth the experience. Enjoy the flavourful menu and make sure to take pictures from the terrace.

I must confess that during our visit to Prague, we did eat at an italian restaurant. I can imagine what you are thinking but to our defense, Marinara Ristorante, was build inside of a boat that is docked in the Vltava River and overlooks the Prague Castle.o

We also tried the Czech goulash- a soup or stew of meat and vegetables, but unlike the Hungarian goulash, it tends to be beefier, with fewer vegetables and it is sometimes made with beer. Have to admit not my favorite dish.


Traditional Honduran food in Comayagua

Comayagua has many places to eat. All the way from honduran traditional dishes (my favorite) to gourmet organic cafes. It’s a matter of having enough time to try them all. For the most part, food is inexpensive in Honduras, all restaurants take lempiras, our local currency, but major credit cards and US Dollars are accepted. Just in case…ask your waiter before ordering.

During my last visit to Comayagua, I indulged in Ricardo’s, a honduran restaurant located to the left of the cathedral overlooking the central plaza.

“Anafre de chicharron”- melted cheese with pork

Plato tipico hondureño- Grilled steak, refried beans, plantain, rice and sour cream.

Grilled chicken with rice and homemade tamarind-barbecue sauce.

And for those a bit more healthy conscious, chicken fajitas with (or without) rice and home fries.
