Traditional Honduran food in Comayagua

Comayagua has many places to eat. All the way from honduran traditional dishes (my favorite) to gourmet organic cafes. It’s a matter of having enough time to try them all. For the most part, food is inexpensive in Honduras, all restaurants take lempiras, our local currency, but major credit cards and US Dollars are accepted. Just in case…ask your waiter before ordering.

During my last visit to Comayagua, I indulged in Ricardo’s, a honduran restaurant located to the left of the cathedral overlooking the central plaza.

“Anafre de chicharron”- melted cheese with pork

Plato tipico hondureño- Grilled steak, refried beans, plantain, rice and sour cream.

Grilled chicken with rice and homemade tamarind-barbecue sauce.

And for those a bit more healthy conscious, chicken fajitas with (or without) rice and home fries.
