Life changing experience at Bali, Indonesia – Eva Calderon
Where was your vacation/trip and how long did you visit that place? Bali, Indonesia. 10 days.
Brief description of your experience. There are some places that just pull you in – and Bali was that for me.
Your favorite thing to do and eat there. I can give you a list of 1000 things to do there, however, for me, it was the 7 Temples to Enlightenment tour. This tour is ideal for those who are interested in history and culture of a unique island and its people and love to go where few others have travelled.
My favorite thing to eat there was lemongrass chicken satay, and anything with coconut.
Where did you stay? Ubud, Nusa Lembongan, Seminyak.
Would you go back? Absolutely! When I think of everywhere I’ve travelled, I can’t think of many places I’d go back to every year. Bali is one of them… its people.
A tip for someone planning to visit that place for the first time. I would say it really depends on your budget/preference. There are so many amazing options for beach side hotels, rice terrace hotels, etc.
For restaurants, excursions and sightseeing trails, etc I recommend Tegalalang Rice Terrace, Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud, Pura Tirta Empul (Water Temple), yoga at Yoga Barn, Jungle Fish Pool, a cooking class with the locals, Uluwatu Temple, Tonah Lot Temple, and experience Balinese dance at Ubud Palace, dinner at Fair Warung Bale, Locavore, and try Luwak coffee.
Special visas?- Visa on arrival $35 valid 30 days
Pre-Trip Vaccinations- If I needed any, I didn’t get it. Oops!
Overall heads up- It is hot and humid, bring light clothes and plenty of memory storage for pictures.
Any upcoming trips planned for this year? Cairo, Egypt. Oct 2017
